Competition program 

The program chosen by the candidate in the application form remains final and cannot be changed.
Candidates may not choose the same work in more than one stage of the Competition; Each title will be presented only once in the competition repertoire.
Candidates may present their repertoire works in any order.
All rounds must be executed from memory except for categories A and B  (1st round only).  Sonatas with piano accompagnement are allow to by played with scores.

Category A: for participants of 10 years old and less at the time of competition

FIRST ROUND (Video submission)

.Two contrasting works with max. duration: 15 min.

(Eg: Etude/Caprice)

 FINAL ROUND (GERMANY)

.Free program with max. duration: 15 min. *In case of two works, one should be with piano accompaniment

 

 

Category B: for participants of 14 years old and less at the time of competition

FIRST ROUND (Video submission)

1- Etude

2- One piece with piano accompaniment

SECOND ROUND (GERMANY)

.Free program with max. duration: 15 min. *In case of two works, one should be with piano accompaniment

FINAL ROUND (GERMANY)

.First movement of a violin concerto by one of the following:

 W.A. Mozart.  from the concertos no.3, no.4 or no.5 or 19th or 20th century violin concerto

 

 

Category C: for participants of 18 years old and less at the time of competition

FIRST ROUND (Video submission)

1- One slow and fast movement of the Sonatas or Partitas for Violin solo by J.S. Bach: 

2- Free choice from the following: Paganini Caprice, Rode, Wieniavsky or Don’t Op.38

SECOND ROUND (GERMANY)

.Free program with max. duration: 18 min. *In case of two works, one should be with piano accompaniment

FINAL ROUND (GERMANY)

. First movement of a violin concerto from 19th or20th century

 

 

Category D: for participants of 27 years old and less at the time of competition

FIRST ROUND (Video submission)

1- One slow and fast movement of the Sonatas (NOT PARTITAS) for Violin solo by J.S. Bach

2- A virtuoso piece by one of the following composers:

Paganini Caprice, Ernst, Ysaÿe (Sonata no.3 in D-minor “Ballade”) or Sonata no.6

 

SECOND ROUND (GERMANY)

.Free program with max. duration: 20 min. *In case of two works, one should be with piano accompaniment

 

FINAL ROUND with Berliner Symphoniker (GERMANY)

. First movement of a violin concerto by one of the following composers: 

1- Niccolò Paganini: Violin Concerto No. 1 in D major Op.6

2-Johannes Brahms: Violin Concerto in D major Op.77

3- Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto in D major Op.35

4- Jean Sibelius: Violin Concerto in D minor Op.4
